cheating

so i'm cheating a bit with the photos today... but i figure i'll follow chase jarvis' claim to fame and declare "the best camera is the one that's with you". i've been editing all morning, so after my 2nd cup of coffee it was time to get up and move. not to mention it was noon. max and i headed out for a walk slash run (we run kinda funny, hence the slash). all i had with me was my iphone and my new app hipstamatic camera (seriously this thing RULES!).

valentine/schmalentine

i started working on my valentine's day surprises for jeremy today. i won't post pictures today (he tends to read this from time to time) however, i'll make sure to post the results after sunday.

i (we) have never been big on this holiday, at least not the whole buying frenzy that seems to precede it. jerms and i decided that this day is set aside for just "us" time, no chores or work or blogging.

last year was a quiet afternoon on honeymoon island, cute name right?? we packed our picnic basket and a blanket and that was it... nothing special was needed. we set up camp on the dog part of the island (this was before miss max, we must've been getting that puppy fever then). the year before that was a surprise picnic he surprised me with on a tiny floating dock on the hillsborough river - we popped champagne (we're fancy like that) and ate a little pasta salad. our motto- involve food in everything! so this year i have no idea what's in store- stay tuned.

anyone know anything about fantom drives? i found a 1tb, pretty good price. i'm using that to back up images/time machine and burning a ton of dvd's- i have to clear some space on my drive before my computer starts to internally melt. i'm so nervous to delete!

baby love

first and foremost i have about 3 blog posts running right now and editing like a crazy person to get more work up on the new website. i have a few shoots coming up, interview and a ton of school work. i'm so happy to be busy and not sitting around eating bon-bons (that is what all unemployed people do, riiiiiight?)....

here are a few shots from a certain neighbor baby that really is just incredible. he's so super chill, go with the flow and an obvious model in the making (doesn't hurt that he's got two hottie parents also).

i was surprised how much i enjoyed snapping pics of this lil guy. besides my niece i'm a little unversed with children, hopefully going forward they are all as mild mannered as this one... one can hope, right??

how sweet are these things... i love airstreams, they are sleek and sexy. i've always wanted to take one cross country, one day it will happen! i have been itching to drive out to dover fl for awhile to catch a sight of the airstream ranch. they look almost like tombstones of... silver beasts, up straight with a slight tilt, glimmering in all their former glory. this morning i drove out there, coffee in tow and airstreams on my mind. way out on a country dirt road, down a whirly path and over mushy land i arrived. they are massive! i stood underneath the tallest one in the middle and told myself how screwed i would be if it decided to uproot itself and tumble.

doing some edits today, expect new photos soon. also- little plug for myself, i've been working on a site finally. it's a work in progress but it's something! check it and i welcome constructive criticism - birdlime

are you my mother?

this last weekend of january was a ton of fun. it was busy but what weekend isn't anymore....

we got to kick off our friday with a potluck dinner at a friends place - i will post pictures of her house soon, an incredible designer with a knack for taking incredible eclectic pieces and knowing where and how to place each one. she's got style! make sure to check out her shop - a simple living in downtown st pete.

i've mentioned my niece here before... she's almost 4 and talks up a storm with a million questions.. everything is why, why? her mommy gave us tickets to see one of her favorite books live on stage, "are you my mother?". the tampa bay performing arts center (i'll be back here in a few weeks for wicked...eeek!) was full of 5 and under's. i wasn't sure what we had in store for us but all the kids loved it, they were paying attention and giggling, clapping along. the dialogue may have been a bit too heavy in parts but that's what happens when you create an hour long play from a book with virtually no words. i snuck my camera in for a few shots..

i'm now onto a few projects for school and setting up some meetings in hopes for some paid jobs soon. keep your fingers crossed.
